Since September, you might have noticed a few small differences to the way you see and use Blackboard and other learning systems.
Together, all our systems are called UniLearn.
This is the umbrella term for the integrated system which supports USW learning and teaching activities through technology. Key components and tools include:
As part of this move, the old Blackboard web link changed to http://unilearn.southwales.ac.uk.
When you logged in to Blackboard in September, you might have noticed some changes, including an improved range of tabs at the top including My Modules and the Home page. The Home page now also gives students a new organisation for their course. This provides a central location for all course information and documents, as well as offering a simple way to chat with other students across the entire award.
Would you like to be able to offer online tutorials, support or webinars for your students? Find out how you can incorporate Collaborate in your teaching.
Content Collection is a file repository that allows you to store, manage, and share content across modules and with other staff members. Updating a file that is held the Content Collection saves time and avoids duplication of effort, eliminating the need to go into each module to upload an updated version of a file. Why not take a look at some of the new resources we have created to help you deliver your student IT inductions?
Throughout the Autumn term, we ran a range of workshops, short online webinars and drop-in sessions on all campuses to help staff find out more about what’s available. For details on upcoming training sessions, please visit our Staff Development & Training opportunities page.
Remember you can also find additional resources here on TEACH, or you can follow self-directed training in your Blackboard organisation entitled Enhancing Learning through Technology.
