Media Players (TV & Radio Online)

Media Players

The University of South Wales currently operates two systems where you can find online media to use for learning and teaching: Box of Broadcasts (BoB) and eStream.

BoB – Box of Broadcasts

A shared online off-air TV and radio recording service for UK higher and further education institutions, BoB enables all staff and students in USW to view and/or record any broadcast programme from 60+ TV and radio channels. The recorded programmes are then kept indefinitely (no expiry) and added to a growing media archive (currently at over 1 million programmes), with all content shared by users across all subscribing institutions.

  • To learn about adding BoB videos to your Blackboard courses see the Adding Video pages.
  • For more information about BoB itself you can read the Box of Broadcasts Guide provided by the Library Service.

eStream

eStream is used for hosting and streaming recordings made by university staff/students such as:

  • USW Gradation ceremonies
  • Lecture recordings
  • USW iTunesU
  • BA(Hons) Performance and Media work (student work)

It can also be used to stream content that you would previously have distributed via DVD.

For more information about estream please read our eStream pages.
